If you excel in fast\u2011paced environments, love winning new business, and can confidently engage installers and major end users, this role puts you at the centre of our growth strategy.<\/p>\n<p><b>What will I be doing as a Business Development Manager for SMC?<\/b><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive a focused sales plan to expand SMC and Chubb\u2019s footprint across target markets.<\/li>\n<li>Own the hunt: prospect relentlessly, build your pipeline, and secure high\u2011value new business.<\/li>\n<li>Build strong commercial relationships with fire and security installers and key end\u2011user accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Lead negotiations, close deals, and deliver compelling demonstrations of SMC\u2019s TOUCH platform.<\/li>\n<li>Generate and qualify leads through outbound activity, networking, referrals, and campaigns.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the full sales cycle with precision, from first contact to contract signature.<\/li>\n<li>Hit and exceed revenue, growth, and KPI targets.<\/li>\n<li>Maximise account value through strategic upselling and cross\u2011selling.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with operations, customer service, and technical teams to ensure seamless onboarding.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a disciplined CRM pipeline with accurate forecasting and activity tracking.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor competitors, market shifts, and customer insights to stay ahead and spot new opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Support tenders, renewals, and pricing proposals to strengthen win rates.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the business at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To be successful in this role as a Business Development Manager, you will have: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A proven track record of new business development and achieving targets from within a service industry.<\/li>\n<li>Whilst fire and\/or security industry experience is advantageous (e.g., CCTV, access control), it is more important that you have knowledge of the installer marketplace and that you understand the installer network.<\/li>\n<li>The ability to prepare area plan and structure \/ conduct effective sales calls and meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent presentation and negotiating skills, with a laser focus on customer requirements \/ satisfaction.<\/li>\n<li>IT aptitude, able to craft proposal documents using Word and PowerPoint \u2013 and to confidently deliver to customers.<\/li>\n<li>Current UK driving license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What can we offer you?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive basic salary with on target earnings of c\u00a380,000<\/li>\n<li>Company vehicle or cash allowance<\/li>\n<li>25 days holidays plus bank holidays, plus option to purchase additional days.<\/li>\n<li>Generous pension scheme<\/li>\n<li>Employee scholarship scheme<\/li>\n<li>Benefits Central Platform hosting employee reward and recognition initiatives and health and well-being resources.<\/li>\n<li>Bravo Awards which recognise outstanding contributions from all employees and encourage excellence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>More about Chubb Fire and Security<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><i>Creating solutions for people and our planet, our company values are our absolutes &#8211;<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own what we do<\/li>\n<li>Protect people first.<\/li>\n<li>Think Steps ahead<\/li>\n<li>Bring energy to challenges<\/li>\n<li>Win with integrity, together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>We work and win together, while never compromising our values<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><i>Chubb Fire and Security is an equal opportunities employer.
